HRMS is an acronym for Human Resources Management Systems, a form of HR software that is used by businesses to maneuver through a number of HR functions such as employee onboarding, staff attendance, payroll and a visual representation of the organizational structure. It also includes a self-service system that employees can use to access their information, apply for leave, and keep up with corporate documents. An HRMS will allow your employees to unleash their creativity rather than delve deep into tedious and repetitive tasks. **What does this mean for HR personnel?** Did you know that automation could actually raise global productivity up to 1.4% annually? (Kessler, 2017) While many believe that technology is able to replace the functionality of the human workforce, that doesn’t necessarily apply to this scenario. With HRMS taking over the mundane, day-to-day paperwork that monopolized all of the HR department’s time, it becomes more possible for HR to take part in different aspects of the company by engaging employees more frequently and getting creative in their approach. The time saved up by using HRMS could be re-allocated into brainstorming ways to revolutionize the influence Human Resource departments can have on their employees and increase the productivity of their organization. All in all, it is apparent that the emergence of HRMS and its takeover of the HR world is a blessing that will forever change our approach to Human Resource Management, and may be the door to a whole new plethora of methods in managing employee affairs.
